The health benefits of oats, honey and eggs
Yes, can eat your way to a happier day, research suggests. When it tastes great as well, like these pancakes, it’s a win win. Oats for instance is a good food for heart health. Here are some more proven benefits to eating oats, honey and eggs:
- Oats have several health benefits as they contain beta-glucan, a type of soluble fiber that lowers blood glucose and cholesterol levels, thus reducing the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

- Eggs are a good source of protein and other nutrients. Eating eggs as a part of a diverse and nutritious diet can support overall health.

- Honey is a potential prebiotic, which means it can act as “food” for the good bacteria in our gut. It also contains probiotics, or “good” bacteria. Still, keep in mind that honey is a sugar and should be limited.

Including oats, honey, and eggs in your diet can contribute to gut microbiome health when eaten as part of a varied and balanced diet. It is important to eat a balanced diet with a mix of whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and protein sources to ensure optimal gut microbiome health.

Why Guts & Glory Health?
So why are we so keen on sharing our gut healthy microbiome-friendly recipes? And we know understand how: Our gut microbes help produce hundreds of molecules that make us feel (and look!) good.
Most importantly, because our family like so many others has felt the full force of the pandemic when it comes to mental health, the fact that gut health affects mental health is a huge motivator for us to keep sharing on Guts & Glory Health.
