Treat your meats with this delicious marinade full of gut healthy ingredients

Versatile Herbs and Honey Marinade

This delicious herbs and honey marinade is perfect for lean meats such as pork and chicken.

Rosemary and raw unpasteurized honey have anti-inflammatory properties which makes it good for gut health! And the other herbs add to your weekly ‘plant points’ as well.

Prof Tim Spector, the gut health expert of ZOE fame, recommend trying to eat 30 different plants (plant points) per week, highlighting that herbs and spices count towards that total.

All the more reason to put this flavor bomb on the table!

Ingredients

  • 1 dl olive oil
  • ½ lemon, juice and peel (finely grated)
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1-2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp dried oregano (or fresh)
  • 2 tsp sage, freshly chopped
  • 1 tsp rosemary, freshly chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Mix all the ingredients and add in more lemon juice, honey or mustard, tot taste, depending if you like the marinade even stronger.

Using your taste buds is a powerful tool when cooking, so make sure to taste and adjust before pouring the marinade over the meat.

Let the meat marinate for at least an hour, preferably overnight.
